Your best resource for all things Bootcamp and recruit training are the official USMC web sites--you'll find links to official USMC websites in the box to your right. We provide additional information in the left hand links based on the experiences of hundreds of families who have the same kinds of questions and emotions.

Once in a while, we run across an unofficial website that offers great insight and support to recruit families. We'll share these additional resources on this page.

NEW! One Family's Journey Through Bootcamp
A beautiful slideshow and narration as reported by journalist and now Marine Father, Russell Working for the Chicago Tribune. To read the full series, see this link: Click here

MUST READ! A Parents Guide to Surviving Marine Corps Bootcamp
Marine Corps Publication: Parents Guide to Surviving Bootcamp This is the official USMC MCRD San Diego and Parris Island publication developed specifically for parents. This is a "MUST READ" guide for all recruit parents, family members, and friends. Many of your initial questions will be answered in the booklet. We strongly suggest printing a copy for reading and reference. The training matrix and graduation information is included for both Parris Island and San Diego.

NOTE: The training matrix in the Parent's Survival Guide is outdated. Use the links below for a current training matrix.

The about.com web site:
The web site about.com has a ton of information in it related to bootcamp. Though it is not an official USMC web site, they seem to have answers to lots of our questions. Here are some topics and direct links to their web site:
